“Shopgirl” and “NY152″ will have met online. They won’t have known each other in person. Shopgirl will have declared that their online relationship would have certain boundaries: no specifics, no names, no career or school or family information.

NY152 will have been Joe Fox. His family will have run a huge chain of bookstores called Fox Books. Shopgirl will have been Kathleen Kelly, owner of a small independent bookstore called The Shop Around The Corner. They both will have worked in the same neighborhood in New York City, where Joe will have been opening a new branch of Fox Books and Kathleen will have had her bookstore. They will have passed each other on their way to work without having known it.

One day Joe will have brought some of his young relatives into Kathleen’s shop for story-time. Joe and Kathleen will have met and will have had a friendly conversation but Kathleen will have revealed that she will have been unhappy about the big Fox bookstore that would have soon opened nearby. Joe wouldn’t have told her that his last name will have been Fox but later in the week they will have met again and Kathleen will have found out that he will have been Joe Fox of Fox Books.

NY152 will have encouraged Shopgirl to fight against Fox Books and Kathleen will have begun a boycott and media campaign. NY152 and Shopgirl will have continued their online courtship and NY152 will have asked her to meet. On the day of the meeting Joe will have seen that Shopgirl will have been Kathleen but he won’t have revealed who he will have been.
