This is the “your mission” scene from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
I know that the Tom Cruise character is named Ethan, not Jim, but I watched the old Mission Impossible TV series when I was a kid in the ’60’s and ’70’s and in my mind I always hear the voice saying, “Your mission, Jim, should you choose to accept it…” When Tom Cruise started making Mission Impossible movies they changed it to, “Your mission, should you choose to accept it…” They just took out the name rather than change it.
But when I was 8 or 9 years old this was one of the coolest parts of the show. The line was repeated near the beginning of every episode. And at the end of the recorded message the voice always said: “This message will self destruct in five seconds.” And then smoke would come out of the tape recorder or it would explode or something. So it’s pretty funny when Ethan walks away from the telephone and then stops because he didn’t hear it self-destruct.
I haven’t seen Ghost Protocol yet but I’m looking forward to it. It looks like Simon Pegg is going to make a great choice as sidekick/technical guy, and I’m looking forward to seeing Anil Kapoor from Slumdog Millionaire again. And of course there’s that classic song.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to penetrate the highly secured archive inside the Kremlin and retrieve Cobalt’s file before he can destroy it. New intel suggests Cobalt is already enroute, leaving you four hours, fifty-two minutes to infiltrate. To save time, we’ve chosen your team for you: agents Carter and Dunn. As always, should you or any member of your team be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This message will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Ethan.
